New Security Systems Software Brings Down Riviera Beach Crime by 25%
Riviera Beach has implemented a new security systems software that is believed to predict where crimes will occur. The residents in the local neighborhood have begun to finally feel safe again as crime rates are declining. The policing software is able to detect efficiently where a crime is about to occur, and send officers to that area.
With the presence of the police pressuring the high risk parts of town, there are less crimes occurring. It is thought that the police are able to deter the events from happening, and are becoming a threat to criminals. Even in cases where the crimes are not being prevented, the officers are close enough to arrive in a timely manner, and react quickly to the situation.
Major Lewis has been implementing the new security systems software since April against property crimes, and uses that information to determine the crime trends from that specific area of town. The data collected from those observations lead to predictions for the potential crime areas. Major Lewis claims “the key is to get ahead of the crime,” and that’s exactly what Rivera Beach Police of been succeeding in doing.
From the moment the security systems software has been active in April, crimes rates have seen a decrease of up to 25% in many parts of town. Locals are hopeful that the prediction of crimes can bring the town back to where it used to be. It may not be at its fullest safety potential just yet, but with time, it can once again be a safe haven for residents.
There are not any other departments in the area utilizing this exact technology. A similar security systems software called HunchLab is being looked into by Miami Police currently. They are using the same tactics to discover when and where crimes will occur, but have not gone into full effect just yet. They will rely on years of city data to create their predictions.
This is still a trial period for the Riviera Department, and they will try out different software until they can find the one that fits their City’s needs the most. They may have not completely rid the town of all crime, but the goal exists, and once they get the technology that suits their needs best, they can start to chip away some more at the crime rates for their town.
